DATA provides services that assist local government employers in complying with federally mandated drug and alcohol testing requirements. By pooling many local government employers under one program, cost savings and administrative efficiencies are achieved. The program has been implemented through a consortium of local government entities through the Drug and Alcohol Testing Alliance (DATA). DATA is a consortium of members from the
Iowa Association of Municipal Utilities (IAMU)
, the
Iowa League of Cities (ILOC)
, and the
Iowa State Association of Counties (ISAC)
. DATA has developed a substance abuse prevention program to assist member employers in meeting the DOT's drug and alcohol testing requirements.
